Spicy Margarita

As with all of our cocktail recipes, this can easily be adjusted to your personal taste.  We like it more on the tart side, than sweet which explains the 1:1 ratio of tequila to lime juice.  The chili simple syrup is perfect addition of sweet and heat. This is a great recipe to batch and make in a pitcher!

  • Serves: 2
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1.5 ounce High Quality Blanco Tequila (100% Agave)
  • 1.5 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 ounce Cointreau or Grand Marnier
  • 0.5 ounce Chili Simple Syrup
  • Spicy Margarita Salt (For Rim)
  • Dried Whole Chili (For Garnish)
Directions
  1. Coat the top of a rocks glass with lime juice and then dip in plate filled with the margarita salt. Set aside.
  2. Add the tequila, lime juice, grand marnier, and simple syrup into a shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Fill the rimmed rocks glasses with ice and strain the cocktail into the glasses.
  5. Drop a whole chili into each glass for garnish and serve!
  6. Note: if you are batching the cocktail, simply multiply the measurements above by the amount of drinks you are making. Put the combined ingredients into a pitcher and then place in the fridge. We add in a dried hot pepper or two to the pitcher, which kicks up the spice level.
