As with all of our cocktail recipes, this can easily be adjusted to your personal taste. We like it more on the tart side, than sweet which explains the 1:1 ratio of tequila to lime juice. This is a great recipe to batch and make in a pitcher!
1.5 ounce High Quality Blanco Tequila (100% Agave)
1.5 ounce Fresh Lime Juice
1 ounce Cointreau or Grand Marnier
0.5 ounce Chili Simple Syrup
Spicy Margarita Salt (For Rim)
Dried Whole Chili (For Garnish)
Coat the top of a rocks glass with lime juice and then dip in plate filled with the margarita salt. Set aside.
Add the tequila, lime juice, grand marnier, and simple syrup into a shaker filled with ice.
Fill the rimmed rocks glasses with ice and strain the cocktail into the glasses.
Drop a whole chili into each glass for garnish and serve!
Note: if you are batching the cocktail, simply multiply the measurements above by the amount of drinks you are making. Put the combined ingredients into a pitcher and then place in the fridge. We add in a dried hot pepper or two to the pitcher, which kicks up the spice level.
