Shuka Shawarma

Shawarma is a Shuka signature and has been a favorite among our guests since we opened our doors. We are so happy to be able to offer you the opportunity to Shawarma at home: perfectly spiced, marinated chicken, fluffy pita, crispy cabbage and fresh herbs. Just reheat the chicken, assemble and serve!

  • Cook Time: 30 minutes
  • 1 Shuka Shawarma Box
  1. Preheat oven to 450F
  2. Line a baking tray with foil. Place marinated chicken onto the tray. Cook in oven for 12 minutes.
  3. Wrap pita bread in foil. Set aside.
  4. Remove chicken from the oven. Allow to cool for a few minutes. Meanwhile set wrapped pita in the oven for 5 minutes.
  5. When the chicken is cool enough to handle comfortably, slice on a cutting board into half-inch pieces, being sure to collect the juices. Combine chicken and warm juices in a bowl.
  6. To serve, slice a half-inch piece off the top of the pita to open the pocket. Save the cut pieces of pita for rippin' and dippin' in your leftover sauces.
  7. Dollop a spoon of white sauce onto one side of the pita and spread to distribute. Add a spoon of zhoug on top and spread out. Pile some of the cooked chicken on top. Add a bit of the cabbage. Dress with a little bit more of each sauce and finish with herbs.
  8. Repeat with remaining pita and chicken.
  9. Your shawarma is ready! Enjoy!
